Enter Eilen --- The moment had finally arrived. Years of apprenticeship under Baro had prepared Eilen for a number of possible futures, and one of those possibilities seemed to have made its way to her. She could hardly contain herself in the co-pilot’s seat as the freighter descended toward a landing pad not far from Selen’s Citadel in Estle City. Before Baro had even deployed the landing gear, Eilen’s fingers were twitching, both excited and nervous. “Hey,” Baro started quietly, “calm yourself. Don’t kill us at the last minute.” Eilen nodded as she took a deep breath. “Yeah, sorry.” She kept her hands off the controls briefly as they steadied, then returned to help initiate the landing cycle. The freighter touched down only slightly crooked, then aligned itself as the landing gear loosened and compensated. Eilen felt herself biting her lip as she hurried over the power switches, and leapt up from her seat as she hit the last two, already backpedaling out of the cockpit. She ducked her head briefly as she passed through the duct into the main living quarters, and didn’t slow down until she reached her room. Back in the cockpit, Baro sighed. In his almost nonexistent reflection in the cockpit windows, he could tell he looked exhausted even through his mask. It didn’t matter at the moment, though. He had a droid to finish repairing to keep the ship airborne, and a young apprentice to send off to a new home. He rested a moment more, rubbing the chin of his mask, then finally hauled himself up. By the time Baro stepped into the living quarters, Eilen was already darting out of her room with a packed bag and her quarterstaff. “Hey, slow down a second,” Baro said quickly. As Eilen’s ears perked and she faced him, he opened his arms. “Just gonna leave like that?” Eilen grinned softly to her long-time mentor, and slung her staff around her shoulder as she leaned over for a long hug. They both went silent for a few seconds, leaving only the buzzing sound of a droid nearby to be heard. “...Alright,” Baro finally spoke up. “I know you’re excited to go.We talked the whole way here, so I won’t keep you any longer.” Eilen didn’t let go just yet, and nodded over his shoulder. “You better keep me posted.” “When I can, for sure,” Baro said quietly. He finally loosened up, an obvious huff coming from his mask as he did. “...Remember your training, Eilen. But know that you still have much to learn.” Eilen’s ears twitched as the service ramp finally hissed and began to lower, but she kept her eyes on him and nodded. “And you still need to fix ZT,” she said playfully with a point toward the nearby droid in disrepair. “Ah, details,” Baro responded confidently. “We’ll be back in flight before long.” He lifted a hand and motioned toward the service ramp. “...Go on, Eilen. You’ve got somewhere to be... May the Force be with you.” A final, soft grin spread across Eilen’s face. “You too. Take care.” She bowed her head briefly, then hurried outside. In her years of interplanetary travel, Eilen had seen some gorgeous planets, and this was undoubtedly among the best. With every step away from the landing platform, Eilen turned her whole body, taking in all of it. The trees, the water, even the architecture - it was a sight to behold. The multi-layered city, seemingly carved out of a mountain itself, was simply stunning from this high up. The only thing that seemed out of place from where she stood was the lower layers, oddly enough. For all the pristine sights at her level, everything beneath looked a bit off, somewhat scrappier and… honestly somewhat disheveled. Admittedly, she wasn’t sure what the current state of the city was like, only that it had a place for her to train and become affiliated. Eilen made a mental note to get more details after getting settled. Her thoughts were suddenly interrupted as she backpedaled into a bystander. Eilen was quick to apologize, only then realizing how crowded the spaceport was. Droids, vehicles, and people of all races filled the space, leaving Eilen somewhat lost as to where to go next. Oh, duh, she thought to herself as she spotted the top of the Citadel overhead, and made her way toward it. It may have been her excitement, but the walk seemed short. Eilen finally arrived at a grassy courtyard with a flowing river, offering a pristine view of the front of the Citadel and its surrounding structures. At least, she assumed. Once more, Eilen wasn’t quite sure where to go next, although she’d been informed someone would meet her near here to take her in. Her long neck craned left and right as she looked for anybody that might, well, be looking for her. As far as she could tell, no such person was there yet. She hadn’t waited long before eagerness overtook her once more, and she began tapping her toes and nodding her head lightly in a rhythm to pass the time. Eilen hummed quietly to herself as she waited, until finally someone nearby caught her eye, appearing to approach her directly. With a quick fidget across her whole body, Eilen stood straight and grinned, hoping she didn’t look like a fool to a mistaken stranger. The stranger, a green-skinned man covered in tattoos, brushed her worries away as he spoke up and offered her his hand. “What’s up?” he started. “I’m Ruka. You’re the newbie, right?” Eilen held her hand back toward him, though her fingers hesitated and twitched for a moment before gripping his and swaying around loosely. “Pretty sure I am!” ---
